Dollar crossed UAH 45 for the first time last week

Last week, the NBU allowed the official dollar rate to cross UAH 45 for the first time. The hryvnia strengthened slightly towards the end of the week. Analysts expect the regulator to gradually widen exchange-rate fluctuations, moving towards UAH 45.8 per dollar by year-end.

Banks expect loan portfolios to grow

Ukrainian banks expect business loan portfolios to continue growing over the next 12 months. They also expect household loan portfolios to grow over that period.
